VJBL Competition
Warrandyte Venom provides players from all local domestic clubs the opportunity to compete in the Victorian Junior Basketball League (VJBL), which is a state-wide Representative Basketball competition providing the highest level of junior competition in Victoria.
The Representative season runs for nearly twelve months, commencing with the tryout/team selection phase each October followed by Spring games / grading games in November. The basketball year concludes mid-December and recommences in February for an additional grading phase. The season proper begins in March and runs for approximately 18 rounds, with finals fixtured in late August to mid-September.
The competition is played on Friday evenings in and around metropolitan Melbourne between 6:30pm – 11:00pm. Training sessions are held at least once per week and run for a minimum of 90 minutes. These sessions are largely based on advanced teaching of skills, fitness, plays, team work and overall discipline.

- Warrandyte High School (WHS) – training venue only, access via Gate 2
The Venom program has a full player pathway in place, from U12s through to Youth and Senior teams in the Statewide Big V competition. Our selection policy at Big V Youth level requires each player to be a current (or former*) Warrandyte player. This policy is designed to nurture and enhance the opportunities for our juniors coming through the ranks to play semi-professional basketball.
